These two browser extensions help a chess coach and a trainee work together on lichess.org.

What the extensions do with data

• They run only on lichess.org pages (the Coach Panel only on Study pages).
• They read the public Study chat shown on the page in order to receive coach commands and trainee status messages.
• They measure how many seconds the trainee takes before each move, and the text of "plan" answers that the trainee chooses to send.
• Settings, and the coach's log of think times, are stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local).
• Status messages, think times and plan answers are sent only through the Lichess Study chat, i.e. to the other participants of that Study.

What we do not do

• We do not operate any server, and we do not collect, sell, share or transmit data to the developer or to any third party.
• No analytics, advertising, tracking, remote code, or network requests to other sites.
• We do not read your Lichess password, your game history, or any page outside lichess.org.

Transparency for trainees

The Trainee Guard always shows a visible status label above the board. It can only be controlled by the coach who sends commands in the shared Study chat, and the trainee should install it knowingly and voluntarily.

Your control

You can remove either extension at any time from your browser's extensions page; this deletes the locally stored data. The coach can also clear the log with the panel's Reset button.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address.
